After the implementation of new curriculum reform, the mode of classroom teaching was required to transform, cultivating students' comprehensive and practical ability. In order to meet the requirements of new curriculum reform of high school and the demand of the high school geographical classroom teaching, teachers should pay attention to the application geographical model in teaching. It has became a common teaching behavior in geographical teaching in high school to geographical model using geography model. But at present, the study of geographical teaching model is relatively lacking. This article aims to put forward some problems and reasonable improvement measures in teaching of high school when teachers use geographical model, through the observation of classroom teaching model. At the same time, the author analyzes the geographical model teaching effect, and points out the benefits of applying geographic model teaching.In this paper, the author takes two classes students as research object in first high school senior grade in some county in Gansu province. The author evaluates the effect of teaching application model of geography, through the literature method to analyze and summarize some model teaching, geography experimental teaching of the literature, and effectively combined with teaching practice teaching geography model application process; through the observation to observe the geographic model teaching in classroom; through analyses the problems liable to occur the geography teaching model; through interviews and comparative analysis to obtain the geographical model application effect of teaching.In this paper, from the perspective of geographical application of teaching model,the author analyze and put forward two application process: geographic model demonstration and geographic model making. The basis of Cagnez's study result classification theory, through interview and comparative analysis, from three aspects:the cognitive, motor skills and attitudes to analyses the application effect of geography teaching model, visually presenting the advantages of geography teaching model in three aspects: the cognitive, motor skills, and attitudes. Through the study, found thatthe main problems in geographical teaching model are:(1) ignoring the conditions of geographical model using;(2) does not pay attention to the student presentation and discussion;(3) the error observational environment and perspectives;(4) neglecting geographical teaching model;(5) the mistake of geographical model making. For the problems in geographical teaching model, the author puts forward the following improvements basing on teaching practice:(1) the focus on conditions of model using;(2) paying attention to students' operation and observation;(3) attaching great attention to the observation environment and perspectives;(4) advocating students make model and display;(5) making guidance and evaluation in a timely manner.
