Patriotism is an eternal topic and it refers to individuals' sense of identity and belonging to their own homeland and nation.China,the country with ancient history and civilizations and the biggest developing country in the world,and the United States,the established superpower in the world today,both of them regard patriotism education as the important content of ideological and political education.The comparative analysis on the patriotic education in China and the United States not only can help to better grasp the differences and similarities,but also can help to improve and enrich the patriotism education of China.In the paper,first of all,by using the comparative analysis method,literature analysis method and logical analysis method,and starting from the concepts associated with patriotism education,the patriotism education in China and the United States is compared and analyzed from the perspective of historical development.Besides,their similarities and differences in terms of historical development are found out.Then,comparative analysis is conducted on the specific aspects of patriotism education in China and the United States so as to find out the similarities and differences.Finally,by combining the actual conditions of China,some suggestions and methods are put forward to enrich the patriotism education system of China.The paper consists of five parts.The introduction part includes the research background,research significance,research status at home and abroad,research ideas and methods and innovation points and difficulties.The first chapter starts from two concepts of patriotism and patriotic education and lays a theoretical foundation for the following research.Then it studies the evolution process of the historical development of patriotism education in China and the United States.At last,it summarizes the similarities and differences of the developing course of the patriotism education in the two countries.In the second chapter,comparing six aspects including principle,goal,content,method,way and effect of patriotism education,the similarities and differences between Chinese and American in patriotism education are analyzed.In the third chapter,through the comparison of Sino-American patriotism educations,the inspiration arose from "recessive education","civil religion"of the United States is that our patriotism education needs to step into life,be influenced by the society and work out policies in terms of people's benefit.use the abiding of the principle of objective absorption and real adaptation for reference.Chapter four,on the basis of the previous analysis,combines the national conditions of our country to make some exploration of our patriotism education.Patriotic education should be carried out systematically and the existing curriculum system should be improved.It also requires to carry out a comprehensive education of patriotism so as to form joint social force and adhere to the guidance of the socialist core value system as well as establish rational patriotism education concept.
