The Status Problems And Solutions Of Social Work Supervision

Since the sixth Plenary Session of the 16 th CPC Central Committee,the rapid development of social work in China,the social work profession scale,professional social work demand gradually have increased.Supervision,as a social worker among the super elite,plays a key role in the social work development and its professional ability.However,as social works are still at the initial stage,people have different awareness of understanding,positioning and functioning supervision.It still has a long way to go for the use and investment of supervision.There is few domestic research on social work supervision Therefore,it is of great significance to study the social work supervision and summarize some experience,which promote the professional development..Taking Guangzhou as an example,this paper studies the current situation,problems and countermeasures of social work supervision.In this paper,the author takes the supervision experience of foreign countries and Hong Kong as well as Taiwan region as references,and combining local needs and characteristics,through the means of cite observation,questionnaires as well as interviews,investigates supervisors,front-line social workers and administrators of social service organizations inside and outside Guangzhou.The author analyzes the development of social work supervision in Guangzhou and the problems it arise from the level of supervision requirements,training status,supervision mode,supervision effect,policy support,industry norms,institutions and their supervision.Finally puts forward the countermeasures.The author takes the construction theory and the social ecosystem theory as the guidance,explores the four dimensions of supervision,including the supervision inner system,the organization system,the profession system and the social system.After some explorations,the author draws some conclusions.Social work supervision plays a vital role in defining the professional values of social work,enhancing the professional skills,perfecting the management mechanism and improving the effectiveness of work.In addition,there are advantages and disadvantages of the supervision overseas.The efficiency of supervision is under the influence of many factors.Supervision also has its own development limits,including the imperfection of supervision system,the lack of support by industries,irrational allocation of resources,the ineffectiveness of management mechanism and the weak autonomous consciousness as well as other issues.In the last part,the paper points out some ways to solve these problems.There are improvements needed to make from four systems.In social level,open the social environment,cultivate multi-level supervisors and standardize supervision system.In industrial level,build relevant platforms,continue training and intensify the support.
