Media literacy has become an important part of modern teachers' literacy in the information society. In order to better adapt to the modern information technology teaching environment, it's inevitable to improve teachers' media literacy. Only teachers have the excellent media literacy can they better help students to establish a correct and rational use of media concepts. In fact, China have a rapidly development in media literacy theory but the practice of it is still in its infancy.Considering the unbalanced development of urban and rural basic education, Henan Province, as a large province of the rural population, is concerned about the media literacy of rural middle and primary school teachers, which will play an important role in promoting the process of educational reform. This paper bases on the status of teacher's media literacy, aiming at founding out the current situation of the teacher hoping to make some constructive ideas for the media literacy training for teachers.Firstly,the paper introduced the general situation of the media literacy and the media literacy education. The research carried on the questionnaires randomly towards the Teachers in the Rural primary and middle school in Henan. Followed by of Luoyang in Henan Province, Xinxiang, Xuchang three rural primary and secondary school teachers questionnaire, and a large number of first-hand data, and the effective data of Henan Province status of teachers in rural primary and secondary schools were analyzed, revealing the existing main problems. Finally, the questionnaire statistics show that, as a whole, the level of teachers' media literacy is relatively high, but the ability of media literacy education is in a spontaneous state, but also to be improved. In view of this, the in the fourth part of the proposed some promotion strategy, mainly from the four aspects of teacher training, media literacy education expert team building, social resources participation and support, the government policy launches the elaboration, hoped can take to promote the expansion of primary and secondary school teachers in the media literacy education practice. The last part of the paper summarizes the main content and research results, and points out the shortcomings of the study and follow-up research direction.
