SWOT Analysis And Development Countermeasures Of College Counselors' Professional Ability

The counselor is the ideological and political work of the practitioners and the daily life of students management,plays an indispensable role in the ideological and political education for university students,and promote the stable and harmonious campus.The 2004's Suggestion on Enhancing and Improving Ethic Education Among University Students(often known as No.16 Document of Central Government)released by the State Council of People's Republic of China has been emphasized seriously by related departments of all levels,which has succeeded in providing powerful support for improving professional quality of university counselors,doing related academic researches and carrying out daily training.As a result,university counselors have achieved significant improvement in professional quality,professional discipline construction has accomplished progress and more related academic researches have acquired considerable results.March 25,2014,the Ministry of education has issued "The standard of College Counselors' professional competence(Interim)"(teaching thinking [2014] No.2),The general situation,basic requirements and the ability standards of all levels of the college counselors are standardized and required.The improvement of university counselors' professional capabilities has become one of the most important problems that require urgent solutions when it comes to one of the most crucial stages of the establishment of perfect professional university counselors' working system.Counselors' professional ability,directly affects the cultivation of contemporary college students and the future development of colleges and universities.To strengthen and promote the construction of counselor occupation ability of higher vocational colleges,become an inevitable requirement to promote the healthy development of counselors and the choice of the time.With such background as mentioned above,this thesis comprehensivelyreviewed related domestic and oversea researches then made thorough study of the improvement of university counselors' professional capabilities from four perspectives.First of all,from the current situation of vocational counselor capacity-building point of view,to clarify the concepts of counselor of professional competence;Secondly,Dalian Medical University career counselor capacity-building as the basis,referring to the Ministry of Education issued a "The standard of College Counselors' professional competence(Interim)"(teaching thinking [2014] No.2),counselors in the ideological and political education,caucus and class construction,academic guidance,routine management,mental health education and counseling,ideological and political education,crisis response,career planning and employment guidance,theory and Practice of research And so on nine aspects of career counselors should have the ability to function,Dalian Medical University for students and instructors to carry out the survey;Third,the use SWOT analysis method,by counselors within the external environment analysis,in the midst of environmental factors to identify four types of key factors counselor development strategy formulation required: external Opportunities(0),external threats(T),internal strengths(S)and internal weaknesses(W).Finally,the use of SWOT analysis and matrix cross combination,it puts forward the ability to upgrade the expansion of vocational counselors type countermeasures(SO),measures to reverse type(WO),and diversification strategies(ST).
