With the reformation of Chinese teaching, the extracurricular reading becomes important from days on. Extracurricular reading makes middle school students to broaden their horizons, strive to improve the personality, access to information and expand ways to get their knowledge. In this study, Yunnan Jinning County Rural junior high school students for the survey, based on a comprehensive understanding of the basic subjects of extracurricular reading and its access to resources on the way, clarify the status of its extracurricular reading, analyzing problems and their causes. Combined with my majors,from the perspective of publishing and the circulation of publications for the focus, seek to improve the situation of rural junior high school students in extracurricular reading, enrich their reading resources, the strategies to increase their reading ability.The research of middle Students’ extracurricular reading has been a hot topic on education. The research mainly on the amount of extracurricular reading, reading content,reading ways, reading habits, reading time and school guidance situation. The research of combining with the circulation of publications of extracurricular reading are not so much.it sees a lot of paper at an angle of Library Science paper to discuss how to promote national reading, to explore how to better serve the readers and so on. In this paper, Taking Jinning County, Yunnan Province, as an example, combined with questionnaires,interviews, fieldwork methods, based on a comprehensive the basic situation in the area of rural junior middle school students’ extracurricular reading and the ways to obtain reading resources, a more comprehensive grasp extracurricular reading of junior high school students in the rural areas, and access to reading resources, to give some suggestion based on the problems. we are hoping to enrich students’ reading resources to enhance reading ability to enrich the amount of reading for students.The study found that students have extracurricular reading habits, but bad habits.With reading needs, but their needs not too much. there are reading materials supply accessions, but only one way. Data shows that the main sources of reading materials are purchased, followed by the school library’s books, the main problem encountered in extracurricular reading is some books are too expensive, having no time to read it and what to read is also a big problem. We can conclude that single ways to get reading resources, the limited purchased ability, the restrictions of time and the lack of school instructions has hampered students to developed their abilities of extracurricular reading.
