With the progress of the times and the society, there is a new recognition and pursuit of education, teaching, knowledge and the teachers and students concepts. Constructivist teaching is a kind of new teaching which respects the principle status of students, focuses on the learning process and guides the students learning how to study and think.As a guiding ideology of the quality education and the new round reform of basic education curriculum, constructivist teaching has influenced the present classroom teaching in different degrees.Based on the research and summary of the constructivist teaching theory and teaching, first, this study analyzes the similarities and differences between the traditional classroom teaching and the constructivist teaching, then summarizes six core characteristics of constructivist teaching: taking students as the center, constructing the meaningful understanding, emphasizing the importance of situations, paying attention to the cooperative learning, encouraging the interactions between teachers and students,the teaching of practical. Second,design the questionnaire according to the six core characteristics.By the investigation of present situation of Yanan high school classroom teaching,this study analyzes the different reflections of constructivist teaching at present: the change of students, teachers and teaching perspectives; the situation creating; the application of cooperative learning; paying attention to the interactions; building relationships between the original knowledge and the new, and so on. At the same time, this study summarizes the existing problems of classroom teaching: knowledge education is still dominant; students can not make full play of subjectivity; students don not have enough autonomous rights; much memory than construction for knowledge; classroom interaction does not reach its effect; teaching is out from the realities.Third, this study analyzes the reasons for the problems from teachers, students, schools and systems: traditional ideas have deeply rooted in teachers' heads, teachers are persisting the traditional teaching methods and behaviors; students' wrong concepts of learning; schools are seriously influenced by the exam-oriented education; being lack of the teachers who adapt to the constructivist teaching; and the restrictions of examination, enrollment and evaluation systems. Finally, this study puts forward the constructivist teaching improvement strategies: teachers should change ideas, change teaching behaviors, change teaching methods, and build a constructivist classroom teaching model;schools should change the theories of management, improve the evaluation system of teachers, pay attention to the professional development.
