Research On Development Strategy Of ShanDong Xiandai University

Strategic management is very important for organization development which refers to based on the analysis of the development environment of the organization, the leaders or the managers design organizations development goals and strategies for the future.Education is the cornerstone of national rejuvenation and social progress, and it is the fundamental way to improve the quality of the people and promote the all-round development of people. With the improvement of higher education popularization, China's education gradually showing a diversified pattern, Under the impetus of the reform of school running system, the change of educational investment structure and the trend of educational globalization, Private colleges and universities has been showing a thriving scene because of the advantages of its system and strong vitality of mechanism. The 18th Party Congress put forward that the society should strive to run the people's satisfaction of education, and encourage the social forces to set up education institutions. This is an opportunity, but also a challenge for private university.Shandong Xiandai University was established in 1993, which is located in Quancheng Jinan——the provincial capital of Shandong, the geographical position is superior, the environment is beautiful. The school covers an area of 1266 acres; more than 15000 full-time students are studying in this university.Under this background, through analyzing the theory of strategy management and based on related literatures review the author studied the selection and implementation of development strategy of Shandong Xiandai University. First of all, the author make a comprehensive analysis through PEST analysis including political and legal environment, economic environment, social and cultural environment and technology environment of the university, then the author found opportunities Shandong Xiandai University faced are: support and emphasis of the government provides a basic guarantee for the development of the university; support of the national policy; increasingly demands of talents because of economic adjustment; increasing demands for high education; there is a strong barriers in education industry to entry and internet technology has made teaching more convenient and diverse. Threat of external envirment is as follows:social recognition of private colleges and universities is relatively low, it is difficult to absorb high level of talent, the province of private education industry competition is fierce, public institutions have stronger competition power etc. Secondly, in this paper the author has carried on the objective evaluation on the resources and capabilities including organization structure, corporate culture of the university, basic resources of the university, teaching staff, teaching and scientific research ability, student employment ability, school-enterprise cooperation ability cooperation ability between universities, compared with other universities enterprises, the author found that Shandong Xiandai University has the following advantages:deep campus culture heritage, professions setting up relatively perfect, advanced scientific research and teaching facilities, teachers specialization and combination, sufficient teacher resources, certain scientific research ability in the same level competitors, the employability of students and ability of foreign economic cooperation have advantages; Disadvantages include:quality of students needs to be improved, the faculty structure is not reasonable, lack of academic leaders and scientific research achievements are not enough. Then, based on the comprehensive analysis and evaluation of external environment and internal conditions of Shandong Xiandai University, using the QSPM matrix the author analyzed the development strategy of Shandong Xiandai University, and found that should choose the expansion development strategy, and then design the two implementation stage for expansion development strategy. then author put forward corresponding security measures to ensure the implementation of Shandong Xiandai University development strategy including:enrich campus culture, improve the teaching staff ability, enrollment and employment management activities innovation, improve the management ability of funds and improve the infrastructure construction.In this paper, the author combines theory with practice, designed the development strategy of Shandong Xiandai University through the qualitative analysis and quantitative appraisal, made the main task of two phase implementation to promote Shandong Xiandai University to grasp the external opportunities, make full use of their own advantages, to improve competition ability, to achieve sound and rapid development. At the same time, the research process and conclusions of this paper also provides a reference example for private colleges and universities, which has a certain reference value for the selection and implementation of the development strategy of private colleges and universities.
