Athletics is an ancient sport, athletics is also the foundation of sports. Carry out Athletics can exercise the physical quality of college students, improve the respiratory system, neural system, move system function. Hardworking and cultivate their adaptability to the adapt to environment. In addition, they can improve their sense of competition and innovation awareness. This study adopts literature data method, questionnaire survey method, interview-method, mathematical statistics and other research methods of track and field course of 20 universities in Fujian Province carry out conducts the investigation and study, analyses the problems existing in the track and field course in Universities of Fujian Province, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures.The survey resulted that two of twenty universities in Fujian province carry out the athletics course, rate of 10%, some schools track as a compulsory course, some schools track and field elective; track and field courses setting are running, sprint, hurdles, high jump, Triple Jump, solid ball and other projects, expand the the project mainly for Orienteering; track and field course teachers with the schools are relatively strong, many school teachers have some young teachers to pile up in excess of requirement, have been transferred to teaching in Colleges and universities of Fujian province; focus on sports curriculum resources with high degree of 9 major projects, track and field course options in qualifying students the minimum number of options, ranked in the last place, there are 5 main aspects Influence the track and field low rate:students environmental factors, teaching factors, physical and psychological factors, factors and characteristics of the project curriculum evaluation factors.On the basis of the investigation of the current situation and analysis of the causes, Fujian Province ordinary university track and field courses to reverse the falling gradually decline. In this paper, through literature review, research related to teachers and students, visiting experts and professors, with graduate students during the teaching practice and thinking, put forward countermeasures and suggestions on how to reform following the:1) strengthen publicity and education to change students' cognition; 2) highlight the status of curriculum culture, sports interest; 3) reform of track and field teaching, innovative teaching; 4) improve the teaching environment, enhance the ability of teachers; reform the evaluation system, highlighting the incentive function.
