Self-confidence refers to complete estimation and objective understanding on individual ability and their actions. For children, the self-confidence is a sign of their self-awareness and development, which has a great impact on the development of their lives. The children in low-income families, however, due to the lack of material, poor nutrition, education and health care resources, in terms of mental health, prone to low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence. Due to a lack of confidence, the children in low-income families often shown as timid and passive in learning life, more timid and so on in interpersonal communication. If there is no timely attention and correct guide, they will face to more and more mental and physical problems.From the empowerment perspective, this study was to objectively and truly present the status of self-confidence of children in low-income families. To clarify the influence factors on the basis of confidence, use the technique of group social work, to help children in low-income families improve their self-confidence. Assessed by the practice, it is found that the children in low-income families have the demand of improving their self-confidence. Under the perspective of empowerment,group social work intervention can effectively enhance the self-confidence of children in low-income families.There are three effective self-confidence improving elements such as the process of self-discovery of group members, team atmosphere of mutual respect, and learning in interaction. At the same time, improving the self-confidence of children in low-income families requires group social work combined with case, community social work to intervene.And family education is also very important in improving self-confidence of children in low-income families.
