As a disadvantaged group in the city,children from low-income families face different problems in their study,life,interpersonal communication,and social participation.The existence of these problems has many adverse effects on their psychology,and the lack of self-confidence is particularly prominent.Usually the economic problems caused by poverty can be gradually solved through economic development,but the inferiority and lack of self-confidence caused by a weak position cannot be solved simply by changes in the external environment.If these problems cannot be solved well,they will Will affect the life of children.Based on this,this research uses professional methods and knowledge of social work to intervene in the problem of insufficient self-confidence of children from low-income families to help them improve their self-confidence.This study through the scale to measure and supplemented by observation,interview,low-income families in understanding J community children’s self-confidence on the basis of the status quo,from the aspects of individual,family,school,community,etc are analyzed the influence factors of its poor self-esteem,and according to the actual circumstances of the low-income children’s self-confidence,the community from the self assessment,self-expression,art force,interpersonal dimension of the four,the abstract concept of confidence for the operation,on the basis of clear about improving confidence the specific needs of low-income families children,using the method and skill of team work,relying on the advantage of perspective theory and social learning theory.Centered on the overall goal of improving self-confidence,the 8 recruited team members were designed to carry out six group activities in a progressive form of building self-confidence,consolidating self-confidence and strengthening self-confidence.Combined with the results of the interview,the group satisfaction questionnaire and the comparison of the confidence of the group members before and after the survey,it shows that the group work has certain effect on the improvement of the confidence of children from low-income families,and the level of the confidence of the group members has been improved to different degrees.Firstly,this group social work helped the group members to realize their own advantages,learn to view themselves in a correct and comprehensive way,and form a good self-evaluation.Secondly,the activities enhance the group members’ willingness to self-expression and improve the team members’ initiative in self-expression;Third,through group interaction,team members’ problem-solving ability and resilience were enhanced.Fourthly,the interpersonal confidence of the group members is also enhanced by the positive interaction and positive feedback.To sum up,this group social work is a useful exploration to help urban children from low-income families improve their self-confidence.Finally,in view of this practice process,the author also puts forward some suggestions to provide reference and reference for the practice exploration of social work involving low-income children to improve their self-confidence,so as to better help low-income children to achieve their own development.
