Appreciation of Classic Poetry is an important part of Chinese teaching in high school, as well as the compulsory content of college entrance examination. The university entrance exam takes "image, language and expression skills" as the key points in the examination of Appreciation of Classic Poetry, among which the exams in "image" is reflected in the image and artistic conception. According to the experience of teaching practice, the author holds that study of Appreciation Teaching of Classic Poetry in high school should begin with image teaching. The poetries studied in this thesis mainly refer to the ancient Chinese poetries in middle school Chinese textbooks of People's Education Press, including poems, terms, and songs.For the Convenience of article writing, the "poetry" or "ancient poetry" in this thesis all refer to this conception.In ancient poetry, poets often used certain things and objects to express the main ideas and feelings. These things and objects were given certain connotation by poets in the long history and became images of the poetry. It can be said that the acceptance of readers to poetry starts from images.Images in poetry are sedimentary deposits and transmission of emotions of poets in deep consciousness, which is the meaning of studying poetry creation from the aspect of image.The thesis studies the imagery and teaching methods of ancient poetry in the following aspects:The first part introduces the effect of imagery in ancient Chinese poetry.Imagery is the objective scene in poem implying the poet' s subjective emotion, which is able to render the atmosphere and create an artistic conception of poem, as well as let the poet express the poetry sentiment by taking advantage of a scene and happily blending feelings and settings.Image interpretations are different in different environment and different readers 'view. Due to the polysemy and uncertainty of poetry theme, images themselves applied to the ancient Chinese poems have many multiple interpretation ways or contain different thoughts and feelings. Artful use of image can create a hazy beauty of poetry and endow poems with implication and ambiguity, bringing vast space to readers to read and taste endlessly.Taking the appreciation tests of classic poetry in the college entrance examination in the recent five years, the second part analyzes and accurately grasps the important role of poetry imagery on understanding of poetry theme, comprehending of author thoughts and tasting of artistic conception of poem. Image analysis is one of the frequent examination points in the appreciation tests of classic poetry of college entrance examination in recent years. Through analysis of connotation and inherent emotion in poetry image, we can accurately grasp the overall atmosphere of poetry, and understand the themes of works and the emotion of the authors by taking advantages of image. Analysis on Imagery technique of expression is also the frequent test in the college entrance examination; the students should pay attention to the answer skills and answer format.Combining with teaching practices taking the common image accumulation and analysis as examples, the third part explores the teaching methods of ancient poetry imagery. Accumulation of image and Grasp of its characteristics have positive significance to promoting students'understanding on the thoughts and emotions of ancient poetries. In terms of image accumulation, the thesis classifies the image in accordance with its characteristics, and concretely analyzes and summarizes the common image connotation in ancient poetry. Meanwhile, the thesis researches and analyzes teaching practices to explore the teaching methods and efficiency results of ancient poetry imageryToday, as college entrance examination pays more attention to Chinese traditional culture and improves requirements of ancient poetry appreciation gradually, teachers constantly promote the study on ancient poetry appreciation and its teaching methods. The summary and research of poetry image in the thesis are helpful to the teaching of Chinese poetry, and have certain impact and significance on improving the students' poetry appreciation level, personal cultivation and understanding of ancient culture.
