New curriculum reform proposed a new concept of development and utilization of curriculum resources.With the implementation and enforcement of the reform concept,"The curriculum resources" now catches more and more concern and attention.This study investigates the local culture which is taken as the present situation of the curriculum resource development.With the help of the study,I expound on the possibility and value of developing school-based curriculum by making full use of the local poetry and cultural resource in Zhenjiang.By analyzing the teaching methods of ancient poetry and the deficiency in the arrangement of Chinese ancient poetry in Jiangsu Education Edition textbook,I try to Systematically excavate the Chinese course resources in Zhenjiang local poetry and culture which can help me explore the development and implementation of the school-based curriculum based on these resources.During the study,I used different kinds of methods,including literature research,action research,and survey research.I hope that all my efforts can avail us teachers in cultivating students' interest in learning ancient poems.Meanwhile,by enhancing their language ability,we can help raise their language accomplishment.Through this,more teachers may have the enthusiasm in exploring new methods of teaching poems.I hope all these can help change the traditional teaching patterns and make teaching more dynamic and open-minded.
