Case teaching method is a kind of teaching method that seeks to cultivate students' interest in learning chemistry and improve students' ability to analyze and solve problems through the case based on students' life.The new curriculum reform puts forward new requirements for students.With the arrival of the new college entrance examination reform,the liberal arts will not be divided into subjects.Students will choose any three elective subjects according to their own interests besides Chinese,math and English.This reform also provides a broader platform for the implementation of this method.The first part of this paper is to discuss the research background,purpose,meaning,content and methods,as well as the relevant research status at home and abroad.The second part elaborates the connotation,characteristic,the function of the case teaching method and the meaning of chemistry teaching in high school.It also discusses the theoretical basis of the case teaching.The third part tells the significant and application of the case teaching method in chemistry teaching,describes several processes of the implementation,shows part of the process of case teaching,analyzes the results of the practice and draws conclusions according to the questionnaire.Therefore,it can reach a conclusion that the case teaching method can promote the students' ability.The fourth part is to put forward problems in the process of practice and puts forward their own views,and provides some countermeasures to solve the problem according to their own views.
