A Study On The University-wide Entrepreneurship Education In American University

The 21 st century is the age of of knowledge economy.The development of the market economy requires the force of innovation and entrepreneurship.Professor Myles established the first entrepreneurship education course at Harvard University in 1947,which opened the prelude of entrepreneurship development in American university.After decades of development,entrepreneurship education began to promote within the university.Nowadays,the development of entrepreneurship had matured in American universities,which accumulated rich experience simultaneously.The base of higher education is very large in our country.Huge numbers graduates enter the labour market.The function of market absorbing labour force is descending.Solving the employment problem of graduates has been a knotty problem for government.Supporting the entrepreneurship of graduates has been an independent measure to settle the employment problem.Universities should develop entrepreneurship education and provide financial support and policy support for all students according to the law made by the government.Entrepreneurship education of our country developed relatively late and still in the early stage.It has accumulated some experience during the past years of development,but problems were still existed in educational concept,curriculum system,entrepreneurship education teacher,social support and so on.These problems severely impede the development of entrepreneurship in our country.It is of great significance for us to study the American university-wide entrepreneurship education.This paper includes six parts:Part I : Introduces the reasons for choosing topics as well as the researches at home and abroad,and define the relevant concepts,combed the literature review and illustrate the ideas and methods of this study.Part II: Sorts out the developing process of entrepreneurship education in American.The entrepreneurship education can be divided into three stages: germination stage Development stage,perfection stage.Every stage has different features.Part III: Analyses the entrepreneurship education form the curriculum idea,goal and model as well as teaching method of curriculum.This chapter is the key chapter of this paper.Part IV: Studies the assurance system.Entrepreneurship education assurance system includes internal assurance and external assurance.Internal assurance includes organization,teachers and practice platform.The other one includes policy and entrepreneurship education foundation.Part V: Summarize the characteristics of university-wide entrepreneurship education in American.Part VI: On account of the existing problems of entrepreneurship education in our country,this paper tries to put forward some suggestions.
