Nowadays,our society has entered the era of diversified development,education has changed a lot,which puts forward new requirements.That is to know how to study and how to learn anytime and anywhere,so,as a teacher,we need to develop students' autonomous learning ability.However,in our class,we are sill using traditional teaching ways to teach students English.Students' education is still filled with fear of assignments and exams,the traditional teaching mode is still occupied in our education.Based on the teaching status and the era background,we will explore a new teaching mode,in order to cultivate students to develop good learning habits,self-study ability,and the spirit of exploration.In the meanwhile,we are looking forward to improving teachers' personal quality,teaching methods,the efficiency of classroom teaching,and teaching quality.The study used experimental teaching method questionnaire,statistical analysis.First of all,author analyzed the existing problems in present situation,and then explained the importance of communication between students in the teaching mode of “team cooperation,suspected and exploration combination” according to the theory of Constructivism,the theory of autonomous study.There are four basic steps including "Setting queries and independent inquiry""Solving queries and cooperative inquiry""Query and inquiry in the last Step""Applying and developing the new knowledge”.“Self queries and independent inquiry” requires students to put forward questions and solve the basic problem by themselves,"solving queries and cooperative inquiry " requires students to communicate,represent comment in groups to solve difficult problems,“query and inquiry in the last step” demands teachers and students solve more difficult problems.Finally,"applying and developing new knowledge" summarizes what students have learned in class and try to put their knowledge into practice.This teaching experiment had lasted for a term.Author chose students who are in class 7and class 8 in Grade 2,in Baotou,Guyang No.1 middle school.The experimental class was used “queries and inquiries in three steps” teaching mode,while comparative class was still used the traditional teaching mode.After the experiment,author made a comparison of their interest in English study,their academic achievement,their self-learning ability and cooperation awareness and so on.By examination test and questionnaire investigation,author tested the teaching effect,using SPSS statistical software to analyze the results.The study found that experimental class students had improved in English scores,learning interest,autonomous learning ability and cooperation consciousness,compared with the traditional class students.Especially in the experimental class students' cooperation consciousness and self-learning ability.It also proved that “queries and inquiries in three steps” teaching mode is feasible in English teaching.
