The knowledge of elements and compounds plays an important role in senior high school chemistry learning.It is not only an important component of middle school chemistry knowledge system,but also a good carrier for implementing the goal of quality education.However,the survey found that most high school freshman think the part of knowledge is easy to understand but difficult to remember.With the increase of content,the effect of learning is getting worse,and the more they learn,the less they feel interested in that.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to find out the specific problems that reflect this contradiction,find out the reasons and put forward positive methods for solving the problems.The study firstly found that much of relevant literature pay more attention to the exploration and application of teaching theory with the analysis of relevant literature about elements and compounds.On the basis of the learning motivation theory and meta-cognitive theory,the paper took students as major part.The study investigated the fresh students' study status quo of element compounds in a senior high school of Panjin City in Liaoning Province by using interviews and questionnaire survey report,which in order to identify problems encountered in the process of students in learning elements and compounds and it was embodied from four dimensions:students' interest in learning,learning motivation,meta-cognition and learning strategy.We can get the results of subjects' learning level of each dimension,which reflects what is the effect of four dimensions on learning outcomes.Among them,the study analyzed the results of each survey question in horizontal or vertical different levels.In order to ensure the accuracy of the results of the survey,the study used SPSS 19.0 data analysis software in the process of data analysis.The study analyzed the reliability of the questionnaires,and the reliability coefficient is Alpha=0.890.The reliability of the questionnaire is good and it can reflect the status quo of students ' learning elements and compounds well.The greatest achievement of this study lies in summarizing the high students' behavior and cognitive status in learning elements and compounds according to the findings of the investigation.And the study proposed strategies to improve the status of of high school students' learning elements and compounds from four aspects:focusing on the interest,stimulating learning motivation,improving the level of meta-cognition and mastering the proper learning strategies.In addition,combining with teaching practice,the study inspected the teaching effect of strategies and obtained a good teaching result.This study is intended to solve the problems in the teaching of basic chemistry and it is expected that the study could make a positive effect on chemistry teaching practice research.
