Reading instruction has always been an integral part of the language classroom teaching.Teaching staff and theory researchers also focus on the cultivation of the students' reading strategies all the time.Since the beginning of 21 stcentury.Some international organizations launch some reading literacy tests for students in compulsory education all over the world.The most representative program is the PISA-Program for International Student Assessment Reading materials adopted in this test contain 30% of the discontinuous text.In contrast,Chinese language teaching in China lack similar reading literacy assessment program for students,and the continuous text is the main teaching content in Chinese reading instruction.Compulsory Education Curriculum Standard Chinese issued in 2011 recommend that the discontinuous text should be included in the teaching of Chinese reading.Whether to improve students' Chinese quality or to adapt to the development of the society,we must attach great importance to the continuous text.This research persisting in combining theory and practice,describes the concept clearly basing on the latest research results in the subject,outlines a distinctive feature of discontinuous text through classifying discontinuous text.Using the method of questionnaire survey,interview and so on,the investigation aims at grasping the proportion of discontinuous text of Chinese classroom teaching in secondary school,investigating students' cognitive degree of discontinuous text and summarizing the existing discontinuous text reading material,to explore suitable reading method for all kinds of discontinuous text.To improve middle school students' Chinese accomplishment,it is required that we must pay much attention to the training of their reading ability,writing ability and comprehensive learning ability.On the basis of analyzing the discontinuous text,this paper discuss the necessity and feasibility for middle school students to make discontinuous text as a reading tool,and appeal to them to link Chinese learning and real life,get lifelong benefit from the knowledge and skills.
