With the development of information technology,it has brought hitherto unknown effects on people's work,learning and daily life,which takes computer and network as the core.To master computer technology has become a compulsory course for everyone to adapt to modern society.In order to improve students' comprehensive quality,higher vocational colleges pay more attention to the cultivation of computer application ability than before.However,the implementation of computer basic courses teaching in higher vocational college is not optimistic.The phenomenon that learning can't be adopted and used in the reality is prominent.Therefore,how to improve the teaching quality of basic computer courses in higher vocational colleges has become very important topic for researchers and educators.which aims at the training talents to adapt to the economic construction and social development requirements.This paper takes Xuanhua Science & Technology Vocational College as an example and how to improve the teaching quality of basic computer courses as the central idea,having studied deeply the related theories of computer education from domestic and foreign scholars,based on the educational theories such as teaching students in accordance with their aptitude,autonomous learning and stratified teaching,using quantitative research methods,taking the form of questionnaire survey,implementation status of basic computer courses and the National Computer Rank Examination(NCRE)in Xuanhua Science & Technology Vocational College are analyzed.The survey suggests that the most of our college students' interest in learning the computer is relatively high,but the student foundation is uneven,the purpose of learning is not clear.At the same time,students had a low passing rate in the NCRE.Therefore,the author suggests that the basic courses of computer in vocational colleges should be reformed NCRE-oriented.On the one hand,the passing rate of the NCRE should be improved through teaching the syllabus of computer rank examination.On the other hand,based on comprehensive analysis of the disadvantages of NCRE' s syllabus,the advice on how to improve the contents,the teaching method and strategy of basic computer course is proposed.The author believes that the school should take an exam to know about the situation of the students' basic knowledge thoroughly and take hierarchical teaching changing the traditional teaching methods on this analysis basis.In addition,the methods of assessment should be changed to receive the goal of increasing comprehensive ability of university students.In a word,the author thinks that we should actively reform in basic computer teaching and explore the new teaching mode to strengthen students' ability and skills training in the field of computer application.Meanwhile,the content of the NCRE should be enriched in order to achieve the goal that the passing rate of the national computer grade examination and the comprehensive ability of college students are improved simultaneously.
