According to Chinese education circles,the research on history education in the period of Nanjing national government focus on middle school history teaching,including teaching goal,textbook,teaching principle and teaching method.After analyzing this educational journal,it can be inferred the general situation on history education from 1927 to 1937.Briefly speaking,there are three points mainly talked about.Firstly,how to select the material for history textbook.In fact,this issue was more concerned by textbook writer and history teacher.And research also analyzed the history textbook from 1927 to 1937 from different perspectives and its defects and gave advice to improve.Secondly,the history teaching method.Although,advanced educational theory and teaching method was introduced from the West,history teaching method still adopt traditional lecture method as basic teaching method.Thirdly,emphasize the principle of current events instruction and regain national self-confidence.After September 18 th incident,the national crisis deepened and the top priority is save the nation from the war and revive the nation.It is essential for history teaching to undertake the responsibility starting form the reality.Meanwhile,these three points are interrelated,instead of isolated.For instance,the selection of material for history textbook should be start from the reality and embody the request of the time development.More concretely,the selection of material for history textbook should help regain national self-confidence and history teaching method should keep up with the times.However,the problems in history teaching from 1927 to 1937 are prominently reflected as the fact that student's history level and study effect are far away from the learning objectives set by curriculum standard.Scholars believe the following factors are main reasons.The first reason is that history is in a position of the edge in middle school teaching system.The second reason is history textbook is difference in quality.Apart from that,history teachers' professional qualities and education reform lead to these problems.As one of the most influential journals in the history of modern education periodical publication,Chinese education circles reflects the educational philosophy and educational situation in Minguo period.Education has its continuity and inheritance,so,the purpose of this research is taking history as a lesson and provide a line of thinking for history education in primary and secondary schools at present.
