Chinese Program in Korea, shortened as “CPIK”,is one of the emerging projects between China and South Korea.Based on this very program,Hanban is bound to send yearly Chinese volunteer teachers to primary schools and secondary schools across Korea. In the year of 2012,CPIK program is officially initiated. It is the same year that Incheon steps in.Inspired by my actual working experience as a CPIK volunteer assigned to Incheon in 2016,I intend to go where no one has gone before and to analyze on the implementation of CPIK program in the entire Metropolis of Incheon, starting with doing researches in three dimensions: all 22 Chinese teachers from schools within the program,230 students from four of the said schools, one of the principals and one educational officer from local government department that's in charge of Incheon CPIK program.By presenting various data and analyses, this paper aims to summarize both vested achievements and ongoing problems of CPIK program in Incheon as much as circumstances permit.Afterwards,a range of specific recommendations are proposed so that CPIK program in Incheon may prosper on a bigger scale.First of all, this paper overviews CPIK program and Chinese education status in Korea. It studies both developing history and current situation of researches on Chinese-teaching in Korea and CPIK program itself, pointing out contributions of this essay.Meanwhile, the designing and implementing process of surveys are mentioned,so that we may have access to as many reliable information resources as possible, and in which case, solid conclusions can be put forward.Next, this paper showcases researches on almost every aspect of the project, including schools, teachers, teaching codes, learners, educational environment, etc. It summarizes achievements and current problems.Frankly speaking,CPIK program has its ups and downs in Incheon for the past five years, but it still manages to hold a stabletrend of growth. On one hand,CPIK program does help to improve the Chinese level of Incheon's learners,to clarify the fair image of China and thereby to actually let Chinese culture to disseminate. On the other hand, this program meets with certain difficulties, such as policy support deficiency, limited teaching conditions and separated treatments towards Chinese volunteers and other teachers originated from Korea. At last, this paper proposes special recommendations targeted for the 4 main subjects of CPIK program in Incheon, which are Hanban,Incheon Metropolis City Office of Education, schools within the program and volunteer teachers themselves.Hopefully these four parties can be inspired and motivated hereby, because,as we believe,a joint effort of all will lead to an absolute harmonious development of CPIK program and make it even greater.
