There are still many backward rural areas in our country,as you know,the development of rural areas is depending on the strategy of “talent rejuvenating”,which is the first and most crucial step to realize the great dream of China.Education is the primary way to cultivate talents and it clings to high-quality teachers.Normally it is common that teachers' professional level is low,no matter professional development consciousness or environment in the current under-developed areas.Rural teachers are the backbone of the development of education which occupy half of the teachers in our country.Accordingly,the issue on the professional development of rural teachers has become a social concern,which is received the attention of governments at all levels.This paper focuses on the growth of geography rural teachers in middle schools of Yiliang County in Yunnan province and analyzes the present situation and existing problems of geography teachers' professional growth in rural middle schools,based on a comprehensive summary of the research on the professional quality of teachers at home and abroad.In addition,we definite the conception of teacher professionalization,teacher professional development and social support.Commonly,it is the joint action of external constraints such as social environment,school,family and internal constraints including the attitude of professional development,the traditional teaching concept,personal leisure time that restricts the geography teachers' professional growth in rural middle schools.Moreover,the school environment and the attitude of teachers' professional development have the most significant impact on professional growth.The development of education is lagging behind in rural areas,and it is difficult to meet the needs of the current development of education no matter quantity or quality.Personally,we summarize the periods and characteristics of teacher professional development and put forward the idea of constructing the geography teachers' professional growth in rural middle schools which referred to the theory of career development to build a framework of geography teachers' professional growth in middle schools that can be supported by all sectors of society according to different roles and different perspectives.In general,this frame is divided into three stages: adaptation,development and creation.Finally,it forms social support of government agencies,social support,school support,and policies for personal development and puts forward concrete measures for these various ways.Finally establish the formal social support system that consist of government support system,support system of local and central education departments,school support approach and local universities support system.As well as build the informal support system that formed by public opinion support system,social organization support system and individual development system and put forward support policies.
