As one of the authoritative university rankings in the world,THE world university rankings has attracted wide attention among all sides of society since it's born.Based on the idea of assessing the comprehensive function of a university,THE world university rankings established an evaluation index system including teaching,research,international outlook,industry income and citations.Therefore,THE world university rankings can provide a more overall reference for the development of universities.under the circumstances that China is implementing the strategy of constructing world-class University,C9 league,as top universities,should seize the opportunity and make full use of world university rankings to promote their own development.Although this perspective has been paid much emphasis on by universities and scholars,there is still a lack of systematic and in-depth study.Focusing on the difference between C9 league and world-class universities,following the principle of combining qualitative research with quantitative research and according to the main idea of comparative study,this thesis uses compared research method,literature research method,quantitative research method and mathematics model method to try to understand C9 league's status in world education system,investigate the annual changes of C9 Universities' rating in THE world university ranking,analyze where is the difference lying and why,and ascertain which dynamic factors contribute to improve C9 league's international competitiveness as well as their relationship from three respects of rating fluctuations,index score and dynamic system.And Thereby,seeking the targeted road for C9 league to reach the world leading level.research shows that C9 universities develop at a relatively slow pace in the past six years and their international position is roughly in the middle.Compared with the world-class university in the world,C9 league's rating fluctuation is much larger and teaching is the main factor causing such volatility.In terms of indicator scores,C9 universities perform best in the industry income indicator and worst in research indicator.Therefore,as to C9 league,exploring a variety of ways to improve research capacity is at a top priority.According to the analysis of dynamic system model,world-class universities have no natural advantage in developing and within their system,there are also many negative effects.In the drive system of universities development,teaching,scientific research,internationalization,and industry income,these four dynamic factors,should complement each other and jointly promote the development of colleges and universities.IF the above four factors realize such a perfect combination,C9 league will be possible to achieve the goal of becoming world-class universities.
