Teacher-student relationship is the most basic and important relationship in educational field which has been continually focused by scholars.Because of the particularity of pupils and their teachers' work,the relationship between teachers and students in primary school is more unique than others.Previous studies on the relationship between teachers and students in the primary school mostly started from the perspective of experts or students but missed teachers,angle which was really important and meaningful.The research takes the relationship between teachers and students since the founding of China as the object,and divide the 68 years from founding to the present into 5 periods:the first 17 years of new China,during the"Cultural Revolution",from "the reform and opening up" to the beginning of 1990s,the middle and late 1990s,since the twenty-first Century.In the past 68 years,great changes have taken place in China including society,politics,economics,education and other areas as well as teacher-student relationship.The research try to investigate teacher-student relationship of primary school in different periods by means of historical research and interviews and address the following questions:Firstly,how did the theory of teacher-student relationship in our country evolve since the founding of new China?What do primary school teachers think of the teacher-student relationship of primary school in different periods?What have changed?What caused the changes?How can the previous experience enlighten today's educators in dealing with the relationship between teachers and students in primary school.Through the collation and analysis of the literature,the research determines to explore the changes of the teacher-student relationship from three aspects:social relations,educational relations and psychological relations.The results are as follow:From the aspect of social relations,the relationship between teachers and students mainly experienced the change from authority to equality;From the aspect of education relations,the relationship between teachers and students mainly experienced the change from teacher-center to students-center;From the aspect of psychological relations,the relationship between teachers and students mainly experienced the change from close to alienation and then return to close.At the same time,the research also found that there are still some problems such as"teaching-centered model","knowledge trading","students' insult to teachers" and"teachers' lack of self reflection".Through the analysis of the causes behind the changes,the teacher-student relationship is affected by the changes of social background,educational system,teachers' status and parents' attitude towards teachers.According to the above research and referencing the previous experience,the following recommendations are made to build a good teacher-student relationship in primary school:1.The whole society should create a good atmosphere,purify the social culture and constantly improve teachers' social and economic status;2.The government should improve the education policy and provide strong support to strengthen the teacher-student relationship;3.Teachers should renew their educational philosophy,improve the comprehensive quality and treat students in a correct way;4.Parents should pay more attention to family education and set good models.
