The relationship between teachers and students is the most basic relationship in primary school education. The harmonious relationship between teachers and students is beneficial to the healthy development of the pupils who are in process of growing up.With the development of the economy and social progress, the relationship between teachers and students in primary schools has changed slightly;the core of this change is that both teachers and students have different expectations of each other and different feelings of care for each other. This difference revolves around the fact that, while every pupil needs affection, the reality is that teachers often fail to provide love and tolerance, and cannot meet the emotional needs of the primary school students.Because of these differences, endless problems have emerged. In reality,it is clear that it is impossible for us to solve the problems surrounding the current relationship between teachers and students if we only follow the traditional social model of fair ethical principles.Which ethical principles can be applied to effectively deal with these problems? This question has aroused the attention of many scholars, and recent research has addressed this topic more thoroughly.Using the theory of care ethics and research method of interview investigation, this paper seeks to describe the relationship between teachers and students in primary school.Through presenting selected information drawn from interview and investigations of teachers and students at S primary school, this paper offers an analysis of the specific characteristics of the present concern of primary and secondary teachers and students, and tries to put forward a way to establish a caring relationship between teachers and students.Inequalities can exist in interpersonal relationship of all kinds;they are not necessarily caused or enforced by social or manmade dynamics, but naturally emerge. For example, the relationship between parents and minor children, the relationship between doctors and patients, and the relationship between primary school teachers and primary school students are all characterized to some degree by inherent inequalities in social power between the two parties. There are often distinct social problems that attend this kind of unequal, imbalanced relationship;in order to deal effectively with such problems, the full use of the common ethical principles of fairness and equal social justice may lead to real inequality.Care ethics has played a significant role in guiding the formation of caring relationships between primary and secondary school teachers. The core of this theory is love and tolerance, emphasizing that people have the responsibility to care for others, and to solve the relationship between people and people, with distinctive characteristics of relationship, concreteness and emotion. Therefore, this theory is applicable to solving the problem of teacher-student relationships in primary schools.
