According to Ordinary High School Chinese Curriculum Standard,Chinese is referred to as "a sort of important communicating tool,which is a crucial component of human culture,featured as the combination of science and humanism.'' In this way,such course shouldn't only be viewed as a tool simply to help students get better in terms of knowledge,capacity and learning methods,but also a precious stone which displays the common values of curriculums in high school as well as emphasizes the righteous direction of emotions,attitudes and values of life.It is meant to encourage students to develop a good sense of morality and science.However,it is the charm of such combination that has gradually evolved into a confusing problem.One of them is the worrying status of the present education concerning morality in high school,while that of the edition in Jiangsu is barely satisfactory.Even though Chinese teachers have always been making unremitting efforts to discover moral education when following the course's requirements,the situation seems not optimistic on accounts of settings of the purpose,the process of communication among students,and the results of analysis and evaluation.In that case,the teachers are in an embarrassing position;the students have positive feelings as well as negative ones;the importance of Chinese has been neglected slightly but actually.Sukhomlinsky once believed that educators should not ignore the fact that the harmony of all parts of a person,both physically and spiritually,is determined by some certain predominant factors...Among them,morality,in and of itself,is something that counts.And as such,the discovery of moral education is of great value to the efforts concerning teaching,for the respect towards individuals' life,for the realization of educators' ambitions,for the belief of all-round education and so on.Thus,the writer would like to put forward some initial ideas,analyzing the present situation of moral education regarding the subject of Chinese in high school.All of them are based on the five compulsory textbooks and some related theories.The whole text can be divided into five parts:The first section is the introduction.It has two parts:Origin and Overview.The second section is to discuss the current situation about the moral education in Chinese compulsory textbooks in high school(the Jiangsu edition)as well as the analysis of its reasons.The third section is to analyze the resources including such textbooks mentioned before.The fourth section is to discover some strategies about moral education throughout such curriculum,along with conclusions after teaching.The last section is to sum up the significance of this research project.This project aims at rousing people's awareness towards moral education and making unremitting efforts to deliver benefits to the overall afvencement of quality-oriented education.
