Zhang Xiaochun was a Chinese educator who was born in the 1920s. In his lifetime,he made a significant contribution to Chinese education. In the 1980s, Zhang Xiaochun carried out the "Broad Chinese education" experiment in Xingtai No.8 senior high school, and his unique thoughts on education have significantly influenced the education circles. Though there are still some flaws and realistic limistations, his educational thoughts are in line with the current trend and also provide reference for Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools.First ,the article describes the objective and subjective reasons for the"Broad Chinese education"thought. The objective reasons why this view of the "Broad Chinese education" came into being were mainly elaborated from two aspects. One is from the division between Chinese and "Broad Chinese"and the other is from the historical development of "The View of Broad Chinese education". At the same time, the article introduces the subjective conditions which brought out the birth of the viewpoint of the "Broad Chinese education", including Zhang Xiaochun's studying experience, his teching career and his educational thoughts. Secondly, the article discusses the contents of "Broad Chinese education" thought, which are roundly explained through three main aspects, including the main features of the "Broad Chinese education",teaching modes and the main contribution to education reform. On this basis, it focuses on the contemporary value of Zhang Xiaochun's "The View of Overall Chinese Education", which mainly includes the influence of Chinese curriculum standards and the enlightenment significance to Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools.At the same time, through the internship experience and interviews with primary and secondary school teachers, combined with practical teaching experience, the article makes a combination of discussion and practice so that its content has more reference value. In order to facilitate the understanding of Zhang Xiaochun's "Broad Chinese education" thought——"One body two wings"teaching mode, the author prepared specific teaching cases in the appendix for reference.
