With the development of quality education,art education is becoming more and more diversified. At the same time, it has been pay more attention in developing. As art education is influenced and restricted by various factors such as time and space in public school, the extracurricular art education institution as an extension and supplement of school art education has been unprecedented development. The teaching forms and content are received by students and parents. There are some reasons why the extracurricular art education institution can be booming, in addition, it must have the existence meaning. Nevertheless, how is the quality of extracurricular art education? Is the extracurricular art education institution really as perfect as expectation of people? In the curriculum, teaching materials, teachers and other aspects are sufficient or not. How the teaching status is? Based on the author's experience, as the part-time teacher worked at Zhengzhou children's art education institution, from the questions of above-mentioned,this paper takes the Zhengzhou area as the research point, takes the students, teachers,parents of extracurricular art education institution as respondent. Observation, practice,interviews, questionnaires and other methods are used to investigate the five extracurricular art education institutions in Zhengzhou. Comparison of art education from inside and outer to find out the advantages and disadvantages,and give some advices to the extracurricular art education institution.This paper consists of four parts. The current situation of extracurricular children's art education institution in Zhengzhou,analyze the teaching characteristics of children's art education institutions in Zhengzhou area, reflection of children's art education institutions,and suggestion.The second and third chapters are key parts in this article. The second chapter is divided into four parts: the extracurricular art education institutions, the teachers, the curriculums and the teaching situation of classroom. In the third chapter,the author summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching of children's art education institutions, according to the teaching characteristics of extracurricular art education institutions. The last chapter is the end of this article, through this survey the author will give some reflection and suggestions to extracurricular children's art education institutions.
