"Modern Chinese Dictionary": Idiom is used for a long time,simple and concise phrases. Chinese idioms are mostly composed of four words, generally have the source, some idioms literally is not difficult to understand, some idioms must know the source or allusions then we can understand the meaning. Since ancient times Chinese people usually use idioms because it can express the profound meaning,emotional characteristics as well as easy to remember and use, so the Chinese people are usually use idioms in their daily life in order to improve their communication skill.Foreign students who have Chinese language skill in level of intermediate or advance also use idioms but it still appears an errors.Professional and Academic Aptitude test or PAT 7.4 was filled in the program of Thai college entrance examination in 2009 which the main purpose is examination whether students that are they suitable for chosen major. The examination questions of PAT7.4 was set by the professors who are expert in each part which contents of the examination made from Chinese Education Index which that examination questions was published by the National Examination Institute of Thailand (NIETS). The contents are divided into 8 parts: Vocabulary and idioms, Grammar and Structure,Pinyin, General knowledge about China, Chinese characters, Writing, Reading, and Communication. It is possible to has many problems that can't resolved which idiom is a part of the problem that students told because the most students begin to study Chinese at high school,grade 10, and they don't have a basic of Chinese so idiom is very difficult for them.This thesis will take the examination questions of PAT7.4 in 2009 - 2011 to be a study case which there are 7 series. Compared "PAT7.4 examination questions" with"Chinese Education Index" and found that the idioms is a part of Education standard.Analyzed and made statistic from the examination questions all 7 series and I found 58 idioms which it separated to 3 types of examination questions. Analyzed and made statistic from questionnaires and finally summarized and suggested the suggestions as well as teaching strategies.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the reason and research significance of the topic, and combs the present research situation at home and abroad, and introduces the research method of this article.The second chapter mainly summarizes the history and current situation of PAT7.4 in Thailand, and puts forward the outline and performance data of Thai PAT7.4, and compares Thai PAT7.4 with Thai Chinese.The third chapter of the main statistical analysis of "Thailand PAT7.4 Chinese college entrance examination questions" in the idiom, Thailand PAT7.4 appear in the idiom category.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the questionnaire of Chinese idiom in Chinese PAT7.4 and then uses the survey results to analyze the angle of Chinese idiom, and puts forward suggestions and teaching strategies.The fifth chapter is the conclusion, summarize the contents of the text.
