The Source And Change Of Social Work Trust:the Cultural Path Or The Institutional Path?

The theme of this paper is the source and change of social work trust.The main concern is that as a new system to solve the problem of social services,how does social work get the trust of the clients,and why it will experience a process of the changing source of trust.With the great efforts of the government,the social work in our country has been greatly developed since the resumption of social work education.More and more people are engaged in the work related to social work.However,people's awareness of social work is still generally low,social workers in the service process is often limited because of the lack of trust.Trust is the key factor of social work practice,so it is necessary to make clear the source of social work trust.In this paper,the source and change of social work trust mainly draws lessons from the cultural theory and system theory in the field of political trust.The core explanation of cultural theory to political trust is mainly related to values,social experience and so on.It believes that the trust in the political system is deeply rooted in the people's cultural norms,and based on the early life of social basis.Institutional theory emphasizes that people's trust behavior is determined by the evaluation of institutional performance,which has the basis of rational choice.The main research method adopted in this paper is multi-case study.The study is based on interviews with the leaders of the social work service centers,professional social workers and community leaders early.In this paper,the author analyzes the source of social work trust through cross-case comparison,and analyzes the change of source of social work trust through the case comparison.By comparative analysis,this paper found that the source of social work trust has two main paths: The first one is the cultural path,including by means of the official name and community acquaintance,the elite's recommendation,and the other one is the institutional performance path.In addition,according to the different source of trust of social work institutions in the initial stage,this paper divides the process of social work trust into two categories,one is the change of cultural path,and the other one is the change of institutional performance path.The change of the cultural path is that the social work institutions get trust by the aid of cultural path at first,and they changes into institutional performance path due to the unsustainable cultural path,and then because of the higher professionalization level of social work,they change into cultural pathagain.The change of institutional performance path is that the social work institutions rely on institutional performance path to obtain trust,and then they change into a cultural path in the context of the higher professionalization level of social work.There is no research related to the source of trust in China's social work field,this paper proposs this research direction firstly,and this paper uses cultural theory and institutional theory to explain the source and the change of social work trust firstly.to some extent,the study provides a reference for the social work practice and theoretical research.However,due to the limited level of the author and time reasons,the follow-up process of change does not find a lot of cases to support.
