In order to respond to the development of the times and the needs of the society,the reform of C hinese teaching is extremely urgent.With the gradual deepening of the concept of expanding teaching,teachers' reading materials for students provide a practical guarantee for the development of students' comprehensive quality of C hinese.The Chinese version of PEP which is under the guidance of Chinese curriculum standard(Experiment)in senior high school adds many expanding materials.These extending materials with high teaching value are short in length and diversified in content.These extending materials have brought challenges to teachers of the teaching design in practical reading teaching.On the one hand,teachers generally agree with the teaching value of extending materials;On the other hand,teachers often ignore extending materials in reading teaching,and the application of the extending material is easy to cause the reading teaching problems,like disordered guest inversion,incorrect timing of insertion,content mixed and so on.The reason for this is mainly in three aspec ts: First of all,the teaching of some teachers is too utility,and the teaching design capacity of some teacher is limited;Secondly,students' lack of initiative in expanding materials learning,meanwhile,limited language ability weakens students' learning quality of extended materials;In addition,the low degree of fitness between the extending materials and the reading teaching is also a major factor affecting the use of extended materials by teachers.As one of the representatives of excellent C hinese textbook,PEP edition high school C hinese teaching material has high teaching value,and the design of reading teaching should be based on the fully use of the teaching materials.The addition of extending materials in Chinese textbook not only provides students with good learning resources,but also creates a variety of possibilities for teachers' teaching.Therefore,in view of the above analysis,this paper first count and classify the extending materials in PEP high school C hinese textbook,and on this basis,summarizing the overall characteristics of the extending materials.In addition,summarizing the application forms of extending materials and discussing the value of extending materials in reading teaching,the transformation of learning style a nd the process of form idea to provide the basis for the application of extending materials in the reading teaching.Then,in order to solve various teaching problems in the application of extending materials,and based on the problems in teaching and teaching practice,discussing in detail analysis,processing of extending materials and in the light of its general trend to provide more specific procedural strategies to expand the application of the extending materials in the reading teaching,making the extending materials and reading teaching together,providing the appropriate supplement for the C hinese learning of students.O n the basis of making the contact clearly between extending materials and reading teaching,formulating teaching aim according students to effectively avoid the teaching problems,like inversion of subject and object and content mixed and so on.In view of the Indirectness of extending materials to supplement reading teaching,teachers should machining extending materials based on the students' learning situation,so as to optimize the integration of the extending materials and reading teaching.In addition,the timing of the expansion of extending materials is also an important factor affecting the logic of reading teaching,teachers should try to play to the score tactically according to the actual situation of teaching.Based on the actual application of the extending materials in reading teaching,this article mainly discusses the application strategy of extending materials,trying to provide reference for beginning teachers to use extending materials in reading teaching and give full play to the teaching value.
