According to statistics of “People's Republic of China 2015 national economic and social development statistical bulletin”,migrant workers has reached 274 million. As more rural population migrant to the cities, the problem of “family migration” becomes prominent.Conservative statistics shows that the number of children of migrant workers has reached to 20 million and still keeps rising. The previous research on migrant children have shown that they suffer from psychological problems like sense of inferiority, isolation and rebellions;externally, they show low efficacy in academic performance, weariness,no sense of belonging and vulnerable parent-child relationship. Therefore, what can we do to help them integrate into the schools as the local children do? What can we do to help them build good life value and appreciate themselves? The previous research on the children of migrant workers mainly concentrated on the macroscopic aspects, such as urban integration, household registration system, the right to education, economic productivity and educational rights. They ignored the potential of migrant children and denied the ability of children. This paper studies the reasons for poor school integration of the migrant children and their advantages from the perspectives of migrant children, family and school by using interview and literature review. The method of group work was used to carry out activities aiming to help migrant children accept themselves and gain confidence in academic performance,parent-child relationships and their ability in school integration. The innovation of this paper is to combine the group work with a school program called “half past four micro class”,which not only improves the children's self-confidence,their habits, and consolidate the work of the group. This paper proves that group work can have lasting effect and some feasible suggestions on school integration are put forward for the future study.
