Study On Influencing Factors Of Basic Nursing Skill Examination Results For Baccalaureate Nursing Students After Internship

Objective:To analyze the influencing factors of basic nursing skill examination results for baccalaureate nursing students after internship and to provide reference for teaching.Methods:This study consisted of four parts1 A qualitative research on the influencing factors of basic nursing skills of nursing undergraduates after they finish the Internship: By using research methods of phenomenology,18 students participate in the depth interviews,and the factors of the impact was collected,the interview data were analyzed using Colaizzi seven step method.2 Questionnaire development of influencing factors on nursing undergraduates basic nursing skills score: The questionnaire in accordance with literature at home and abroad,qualitative interview was formed.3 Evaluation of difficulty coefficient of the 17 basic nursing skills: Design questionnaire on the basis of the existing nursing operation techniques difficulties evaluation system,investigate 100 nursing experts of Shanxi Province,assess the difficulty coefficient of seventeen basic nursing operation techniques.4 The analysis of the influencing factors: totally 576 baccalaureate nursing students after internship and attending the basic nursing skill examination were selected by purposive sampling,and they were investigated in terms of the influencing factors of the examination results.Results:1 Qualitative researchSix themes emerged:(1)nursing students personal factors;(2)clinical hospital factors;(3)internship department rotation factors;(4)clinical teaching factors;(5)assessment ofproject operation difference factor in the school's teaching and clinical practice;(2)the inspection operation project clinical training,practice and evaluation factors.2 Questionnaire developmentThough this research,we develop questionnaires.The items of the questionnaire were30.3 The assessment of difficulty coefficientThe assessment of difficulty coefficient of seventeen basic nursing operation techniques measured by the survey were: sputum suctioning 1.37,urinary catheterization skills for female patient 1.33,closed intravenous injection 1.21,intradermal injection 1.21,basic life support 1.34,making an anesthetic bed 0.97,assessment of temperture?pulse?respiration and blood pressure 0.94,the use of simple espirator and oxgen adminstration1.19,breech intramuscular injection simultion 1.08,high-capacity nonretention enema 1.23,nose feeding 1.29,oral cavity nursing 1.19,change an occupied bed 1.02,intravenous blood transfusion 1.36,urinary catheterization skills for male patient 1.36,aseptic techniques 1.26,gowning and gloving 1.12.4 Questionnaire surveyThe determinants of the basic nursing skill examination result for baccalaureate nursing students after internship included the examination result of basic nursing in university before intership,practicing time,the difference of material and process between university teaching and clinical practice,the teaching regularity of the examination items,guide frequency of the examination items during clinical practice(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:1 Qualitative researchSix themes emerged:(1)nursing students personal factors;(2)clinical hospital factors;(3)internship department rotation factors;(4)clinical teaching factors;(5)assessment of project operation difference factor in the school's teaching and clinical practice;6 the inspection operation project clinical training,practice and evaluation factors.2 Questionnaire developmentThe questionnaires had good content validity and it was used to investigate the the influencing factors of basic nursing skill examination results for baccalaureate nursing students after internship to its adoption.3 The assessment of difficulty coefficientThe difficulty coefficient of seventeen basic nursing operation techniques are suited the study.4 Questionnaire surveyA part of baccalaureate nursing students didn't master the examination item.The basic nursing skill examination result for baccalaureate nursing students after internship increased with the increase of the basic nursing skill examination result of basic nursing before internship,practicing time,the teaching regularity of the examination items,guide frequency of the examination items during clinical practice.The examination result increased with the decline of the difference of material and process between university teaching and clinical practice.It is recommended to pay attention to the teaching of practical skills for nursing students in university,the teachers in charge of university and clinical teaching should communicate regularly to narrow the difference between the two of phases of teaching,select nursing teachers from the staff,and establish basic nursing skills learning portfolio for nursing students to improve teaching efficiency.
