In recent years,people realize the education is important.Thus,education has been widely focused on,which is facing severe challenges.Educators constantly seek a more appropriate way of teaching.For high school mathematics education,problem solving is a very important part,mathematics cannot exist without problem solving.So,how to better develop problem solving ability of high school students must be deeply discussed.This article mainly uses the literature material method,interview investigation method and class observation method.By studying a large number of related literature to get the predecessors' research results about the problem solving ability,based on what I have learned and the application practices of other excellent teachers,a new problem solving teaching model is found------problem solving in an exploratory way.Problem solving in an exploratory way is no longer just talking and solving what the problem is.It puts forward higher requirements and goals,whose purpose is to develop logical think ability and inquiry ability of high school students.It raises problem solving ability of high school students and gives them a great sense of accomplishment at the same time.The article discusses the significance of cultivating high school students' problem solving ability,influence factors and coping strategies.Taking the analytic geometry problems for example,it cultivates problem solving ability of high school students in these three aspects: illustrates the inquisition mentality of problem solving in an exploratory way and introduces the detail steps to use the Geometer's Sketchpad,which is helpful for students to form the habit of examining the problem carefully;teaches students to use the Geometer's Sketchpad to understand the knowledge;draws inferences about other cases from one instance and turns a problem into a series of questions.In the process of problem solving in an exploratory way,as a teaching tool,the Geometer's Sketchpad catchs the students' attention as well as brings fresh element and infinite possibilities for mathematics class.
