As an important input method of language learning,linguists have paid more and more attention to reading and regarded reading as the main part of language learning in the educational stage.With the improvement of reading comprehension in the process of language learning,linguists have put forward various reading models to guide reading comprehension.In 1977,Rumelhart put forward the interactive reading model,who considers that the interactive reading model is a combination between bottom-up reading model and top-down reading model.Since the theory has been put forward,there have been a lot of researches on interactive reading model at home and abroad.However most of the subjects were university students and the vocational college students,rather than high school students.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to explore whether interactive reading teaching model can improve senior high school students' English reading achievement.The research lasts for three months.The subjects are students in Grade one in No.4 Middle School of the XPPC Construction Division School.The teaching experiment began in September 2016.Class A is the experimental class,and Class B is the control class.Both of these two classes use the same textbook.Experimental class teaching is guided by interactive reading model theory,while the control class still uses the traditional reading teaching.Before the experiment,a questionnaire survey is used to understand current situation of students to learn English reading as well as whether the teachers adopt the interactive reading model in the teaching process.At the end of the experiment,reading tests are supplied to students.All data collected from the teaching experiment are analyzed by SPSS to compare the teaching effects of two reading teaching model on reading grades of students.Finally,a questionnaire survey and interviews are used to explore the students' attitude to the interactive reading teaching mode.The results show that the interactive reading teaching model is helpful to improve students' reading scores.Interactive reading teaching can make students master the basic language knowledge,the knowledge of discourse structure and cultural background knowledge,and also reading strategies and reading skills.Compared to the traditional reading teaching mode,it can improve students' reading efficiency,cultivate students' autonomous learning ability,stimulate students' learning interests,and provide a pleasant learning atmosphere for students.However,the interactive reading teaching model has its defects.Students that cannot pass the test think that tasks given by teachers are difficult,so these students are not willing to participate in classroom activities and losing interests in English reading;Teachers need to adjust the top-down and bottom-up reading model flexibly according to the student's reactions,curriculum contents and so on,otherwise it is easy to make the deviation of teaching.
