With the development of educational democratization and the advancement of educational reform,parents’ participation in school management has gradually become the focus of educational reform process.As the main force of education reform outside the school,parents’ participation in school management is conducive to resolving the parents’ resistance in the process of school reform,receiving more social support and promoting education reform’s success.It has been more than 50 years of history for western developed countries to implement the parents’ participation in the management.In order to promote the parents’ participation in the process of school management,the government has established a valid legal system,improved the participation institutions and organizational networks and updated the evaluation system and internal operation mechanism and so on.In contrast,the research and practice of parents’ participation in school management are relatively late and slowly developing in our country.We are still in the stage of exploration.We still need further development in theoretical research,policy support and practice promotion.This paper analyzes the problems and causes of the participation of parents in the current school management,and tries to put forward to feasible suggestions and provides the reference for similar school practice.First of all,on the basis of the summarizes of the research results at home and abroad,this study comes to understand the current research status of parents’ participation in school management.By using the literature analysis,the study clarifiesseveral concepts like the parents to participate in school education,home school cooperation,parents participate in school management and elaborates the parents to participate in school management value.Secondly,by analyzing the constituent elements of parents’ participation in school management,the paper constructs the basic frame of the parents’ participation in the management,and provides theoretical support for the parents’ participation in school management.Finally,by using the empirical research method,we randomly selected the parents from the primary school primary school in Q district of Fujian province as the survey object.Through the questionnaire and interview survey,this paper presents the situation of the parents participating in the school management situation,analyses the current problem of parents participate in the school management process and the reasons for the formation of the problem,and then puts forward to specific suggestions for improvement.The study found that the current primary school and parents’ awareness and attitude on the parents’ participate in school management in Q city of Fujian province is nearly the same,but their practical participation is not ideal.Besides,parents from different background have different ways on how to participate in school management.And the mainly problems are :their weak consciousness about the participation;the wrong position on participation role;organizational structure’s poor efficiency;the disagreement about the participation program and participation goals and so on.The root of these problems is mainly due to the unreasonable structure between the school and the parents,.So the parents’ participation can not be achieved.The constraints of both sides ’own conditions prevent the parents from participating in school management.The mechanism for parents’ participation in school management is not perfect.And the organization is running in the form and so on.Therefore,in view of the current problems and the reasons for the analysis,it is necessary to make more efforts from several aspects: Firstly,we should lay the foundation of thinking by raising the awareness and creating the atmosphere of participation for parents to participate in school management.Secondly,we should create good external participation conditions,making the powers and responsibilities between home and school clearer,so that to provide institutional protection for the parents to participate in school management.In order to make sure parents’ participate in school management can be actually achieved,we should build a harmonious internal operation mechanism.Finally,we should carry out special training to improve the ability and skills for parents and teachers to participate in the management.
