With the continuous development of the economy,and especially due to Beijing's successful bid for 2022 Winter Olympic Games,the number of ski resorts in China experienced a soaring increase,and the ski industry is going to officially enter the stage of rapid development.As an important human resource in the ski industrial chain,ski instructors are largely demanded and the team of ski instructors is growing day by day,which requires the reinforcement and perfection of the management mode of ski instructors to make ever yone in the team become more competent for their jobs and to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the industry,which is inevitably required by the future developing trend of the industry.As an important part of human resources management in ski resort,the ski instructor must ensure its effective allocation.However,in the current incomplete career management system,a ski instructor might encounter a number of problems in recruiting,training,KPI management and so on,which have severely hindered the effective allocation.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to construct the Ski Instructor Competency Features Model.This paper comprehensively utilizes researching methods including references,Delphi method,questionnaires and mathematical statistics,and with analyzing issues including the status,functions characteristics and responsibilities of the ski instructor,the paper exploits the content elements of the Competency features of the ski instructor,constructs the Ski Instructor Competency Features Model,and puts forward the idea of applying the model to the human resource management.Conclusions are as below:First,the competency features of a ski instructor included 22 content elements,namely honesty and trustworthiness,respect for others,sense of responsibility,self-confidence,affinity,self-emotion control,skiing knowledge,related subjects knowledge,familiarity with guidance process and content,professional skiing skills,safety awareness,service awareness,flexibility,information-searching skills,detail-detecting skills,leadership skills,guidance skills,learning skills,language expression skills,prospective-thinking skills,communication skills,positive motivation and evaluation skills.Second,the paper constructs the Ski Instructor Competency Features Model with four dimensions including the personal traits,the essential knowledge,the professional quality and the working ability,as well as the 22 content elements mentioned above.Third,competency features vary with different levels of ski instructors.The personal trait and the service awareness do not show significant difference on different levels of ski instructors,while when it comes to interpersonal and working skills,the low-level instructors perform much poorer than the high-level ones,whereas the medium-level instructors' performance is consistently between the low and high levels of ski instructors.Fourth,the paper puts forward the applicable measures of the recruitment,training and KPI management of ski instructors basing on the Ski Instructor Competency Features Model.
