In the classroom of elementary school students in Thailand,the traditional teaching method of Chinese is pinyin teaching first.We cannot deny that pinyin has an auxiliary role in the study of Chinese characters,but it cannot ignore the shortcomings of pinyin teaching first in the teaching of literacy.This paper takes the elementary school students with zero point at Wat Duang Khae School in Thailand in literacy teaching as an example.The existing problems of pinyin first in literacy teaching are excessive dependence on pinyin,discouraging students' learning enthusiasm and reducing students' learning efficiency.This paper lists and analyzes these problems.Through the research and analysis of “department of compulsory textbooks primary school Chinese first grade”,“Learn Chinese in 48Hours--A Crash Course of Elementary Chinese”,“Haiao Chinese Academy”and the author's practical experience,further supports the teaching method of Pinyin after teaching Chinese characters is a good teaching method in the teaching of literacy in Thailand.At last,the author puts forward some teaching Suggestions and reflections on the teaching method of Pinyin after teaching Chinese characters,and hopes to help teachers who teach Chinese as the second language.From the point of view of learning effect,the teaching method of Pinyin after teaching Chinese characters is better than pinyin first.From the point of view of the textbook,the arrangement of new words should clearly define the principle of "read and write shunt";In thebeginning of the textbook,the unit should be added,and the content is mainly composed of short children's songs,nursery rhymes and riddles,which will enhance the interest of the text.As little as possible,the whole set of textbooks is marked with pinyin on Chinese characters,except for the introduction of units and new words in pinyin.From the perspective of teachers,the author suggested in Thailand elementary school teachers' career in Chinese teaching,in the following,on the basis of knowledge before they spell in the phonetic teaching section elements flow of language teaching and language teaching.From the point of view of students,the teaching method of Pinyin after teaching Chinese characters is more suitable for overseas Chinese students with certain perceptual knowledge or younger students.
