With the development of worldwide economy and culture,China has attached importance to English education.Therefore,Suzhou public schools recruit high-quality foreign experts and teachers to enhance the diversity of each school.From language itself to mode of thinking,foreign teachers work as an irreplaceable source for students' English learning.Meanwhile,foreign teachers enrich and complete Suzhou public schools with advanced teaching theory and teaching methods.Foreign teachers contribute a lot to Suzhou English education.However,there are still some problems existing in foreign teacher management.For example,the source of recruitment is inadequate;the procedure of recruitment is not formal enough;the training of foreign teachers is not systematic;the assessment and feedback of foreign teachers is timely.These problems affect the teaching quality of foreign teachers.On the other hand,affect the overall standard of school education as well.As a result,drawing up a specific system and fostering professional administrators,meanwhile,combining the management of foreign teacher and school,it is a must to go.Basing on years of working experience in Suzhou public schools,the writer analyze and summarize the problems in foreign teacher recruitment,training,teaching and daily management.By using the education management and cross cultural management theory,the writer come up with some suggestions on this issue----broaden the source of recruitment as well as strengthen the procedure of it,specify the training and feedback,better the cross cultural management.Besides,improve the quality of administrative staff.With this thesis,the writer is in the hope of offering some help for Suzhou public schools' administrators and providing actual examples for foreign teacher management study.
