During the period of 2014-2016,I am a volunteer teacher in the Confucius Institute at Philippines Angeles university foundation.During those two years,I am responsible for the mandarin class in three public high schools,in the meantime,I get the firsthand material collected that time about Chinese character errors.From the viewpoint of the Chinese characters' stroke,component and structure,I made an analysis about the Chinese characters errors.I find that the stroke errors take up the largest proportion among the stroke errors,component errors and structure errors.During the strokes' writing progress,there are many errors,such as the strokes'deformation,addition,decrease and the wrong position relation inside a single character.In the meantime I make a comparison between Chinese learners in different stages,and discover that the grade nine outnumbers the grade ten in errors.The reason lies in the teacher do not attach importance to the stroke-teaching and not give the right concept of Chinese character.Generally speaking,there are two reasons for the writing errors.First,the Chinese character has its own specificity and the teacher has no systematic cognition about Chinese character.Second,the students do not pay attention to the writing compared the characters' pronunciation and students' Chinese characters' writing are influenced by the mother language.At last,I give four advice targeted to Chinese character teaching class in Philippine students in public high school.
