With the higher calling for the curriculum reform of elementary education in China at the beginning of the 21st century,experts and teachers started to study on how to make the geography teaching more effective in the new century under the new circumstances,therefore,most of them mainly focus on the reform of the classroom teaching and consistent improvements of the teaching forms and processes in order to make them more wonderful.However,the homework,as an important part of geography teaching and a natural extension of it,is attracted less attention,which is the reason why this paper is written.The modern geography class should be in correspondence with its homework,and teachers should pay more attention to the design of homework while focusing on the reform of geographical class in order to achieve the essence of education.In this paper,based on the research on the multiple intelligence theory,the author is trying to find out the intelligences linked to the junior high school geography learning,and then sum up the reflections of each intelligence on the learning.With students,the main body of study,as the targets of the questionnaire surveys,the author collects the statistics from four aspects concerning the geographical homework:the contents and forms,the quantity and difficulty levels,the goals and functions,and students' attitude towards it,and then analyses the current situations of the geographical homework of junior high school.Meanwhile,through the conversations with teachers,the problems of homework,such as being monotonous in its form,not changing of target students,no level differences,and no life connections and not keeping pace with times,are found.With these phenomena and problems,the domestic and oversea study on the design of geographical homework,and personal experience,some types of homework to develop different intelligences are concluded based on the multiple intelligence theory.They are picture reading,theme and paper writing,surveying and practicing,verbal expression,operating,as well as exploring and studying.The explanations of each kind of homework are also made in this paper.Five principles,interest,practice,life,elicitation and diversity,are concluded in the paper according to the current situations of junior high school geography learning and subject characteristics of it.Different kinds of geographical homework are designed according to the five principles,and also,the corresponding typical homework are designed in accordance with the typical knowledge in the textbooks.The author hope this could be as a reference to junior high school geographic homework and be corrected and improved according to different kinds of situations.
