A new round of basic education curriculum reform has been implemented for nearly two decades, but the traditional mode of education still affects the current school teaching.Under the background of exam-oriented education, most of the school teaching methods are centered around exams. Thus, there are many problems in terms of junior high school history teaching, learning mode in class and test mode, which have seriously hampered the cultivation of students’ various abilities and restricted the overall development of students.Professor of American psychologist Howard Gardner created the theory of multiple intelligence,he believes that people are equipped with at least eight kinds of intelligence, such as linguistic intelligence and logical-mathematical intelligence. Those intelligence are respectively independent, but are associated with one another.Everyone is born with those intelligence, which have their merits and demerits. So the theory has a certain reference value for the junior middle school history teaching.Through understanding and deep analysis of the multiple intelligence theory, based on years of teaching practice, the theory of multiple intelligence can be applied to the junior middle school history teaching, which mostly involves linguistic intelligence, logical mathematical intelligence and spatial intelligence;thus, based on different types of intelligence, the design and practice of specific cases further explains the theory of multiple intelligence in the applicability of the junior middle school history teaching and summarizes the significance of the theory of multiple intelligence in improving and optimizing junior history teaching and promoting students’ all-round development.
