Ecological education,as an emerging science by combining the education theories and ecological theories,regards teaching and education as an ecological system and put teaching activities into the sub-ecosystem of schools.This paper,ingeniously utilizing ecological education perspective.The author,taking the English teachers' ecological characteristics as the entry point,analyzes the ecological environment of professional development of English teachers in order to provide a practical solution to teachers' professional development.The subjects of this survey is the English teachers of middle schools in Wuhai.The author uses questionnaires and interview to know the ecological education environment to figure out the restrictive factors to English teachers' professional development.The author finds that the restrictive factors are mainly the deficiencies of teachers and the school management.On the basis of the ecological education analysis,the author proposes suggestions on promoting the English teachers' professional development,and hopes to contribute to the researches on teachers' professional development.
