Research On Social Work Intervention In The Needy Families With Cerebral Palsy Children

Cerebral palsy is a seriously disabling disease in children,not only cause serious damage to the physical and mental health of children,and to their families and society caused great burden,severely restricts the benign operation of the families.Families with cerebral palsy children have requirement in many aspects,but the government and society were focus onsatisfying the needs of the rehabilitation treatment,often ignore the series of problems such as the big psychological difficulties,weak social support and the poor ability.It is difficult to fundamentally meet their needs.This paper puts the needy families with cerebral palsy children as the research object,basedon semi-structured interviews for 11 families with cerebral palsy children.Under the perspective of social work and use the social support theory,this research provides resources,ability construction and the construction of social support networks by the social support system,at the same time,provides cerebral palsy children good environment of growth and recovery.The paper use two methods—group work and case work,intervenes interfamily support,family support and formal support system by group work,improve the problems such as poor economic conditions,psychological stress,low sense of personal worth,family conflicts,lack of informal and formal supports.The study found that social work support to the needy families with cerebral palsy children have certain effect,the use of group work and case work method made the families strengthen the interaction of informal support networks,family relations had improved,the attitudes to participate in community,social group activities more positively,psychological pressure and living conditions were improved,ability to use social support have increased substantially.Finally,the writer made the professionalreflection according to the intervention process and practical results,and raise some reflection and enlightenment on how to intervenespecial children family such as cerebral palsy children.
