The Application Of Social Case Work In Soothing The Parenting Stress Of The Parents Whose Children Are With Cerebral Palsy

The main reason for children's disability is the high incidence and bad healing.The families who have the children with cerebral palsy are faced with many problems,including high economic pressure,easily-affected family relationship,physiology and psychology knowledge—lacking and imperfect social supporting system.Parents of these children have a lot of negative feelings which include anxiety,depression,self-blame,shame,self-esteem,fatigue,despair,malaise and so on,and then it will not only trigger the abnormity of parenting stress,but also cause much adverse impact on the growth of children.In a word,finding an effective method which can effectively relieve parenting stress is really an urgent task.From the perspective of social work,based on social supporting theory and cognition and behavior theory,the author of this thesis through social case work involves in the life of Ms.Y who had a child with cerebral palsy and receiving the treatment in the rehabilitation center for disabled children in Ping Liang.Through the depth interview with Ms.Y,the thesis analyzed the parenting stress from three aspects which included personal element,children with cerebral and supporting system,made the specific need analysis,made feasible plan and finally achieved the primary goal with Ms.Y.From the whole progress of this social case work,the children not only made some improvement in cognition,behavior and thought,but also in their ability,resources and potential,and in some degree relieved the pression of Ms.Y.From the analysis,it can be concluded that case work has greater superiority in involving the stress from parents who have Children with cerebral palsy and it can provide various rescue services for problem group in mentality,spirit and other aspects.The author of this thesis hopes that social case work on parenting stress of cerebral palsy children can drive more and more people studying on the weak,which can give some constructive suggestions on how to use social work to study on family with cerebral palsy children.
