The help-reading system of the Chinese textbook plays an essential part of the Chinese textbook and the help-reading system of the current PEP edition high school Chinese textbook reflect the teaching function with abundant content and various forms.The emphases of a student-oriented approach fully show the basic notion of new curriculum reform,namely focusing on students' development.With the assist of the help-reading system,teachers can cultivate students' self-learning ability throughout the teaching process,thus to improve their learning motivation.However,the usage of the help-reading system did not seem so optimistic and it is urgent for us to tackle the problem of how to use the help-reading system efficiently.This paper mainly explore the basic situation of the help-reading system of the ‘Ordinary High School Curriculum standard(pilot version)-Chinese(compulsory),which was published by the People's Education Press in 2007.In addition,the author designed many questionnaires and realize the usage of help-reading system for both teachers and students in the practical teaching.What's more,this paper also analysis the results from the surveys and figure out where the problem is and put forward usage strategies for the help-reading system.This paper can be divided into four chapters.Chapter one deals with the reasons for posing this research question and summarize the recent progress,also point out the purpose and meaning for the research and introduce the research methods as well.Chapter two introduces the concept,development and functions of the help-reading system.Through questionnaire survey,it shows that the usage of the help-reading of high school Chinese textbooks is not well: the use rate of the help-reading is not high and there are some questions among the usage process as well as the fulfillment of the new courses are not so well.Some of the teachers can't stimulate the interest of their students,therefore causing the ignorance of the help-reading and the slow improvement of students.This research is based on the real usage condition of teachers and students,and providing a strategy to teachers and students according to the element characters.Chapter four illustrate some strategies to point,annotation,exercise of the help-reading system accordingly.The writer hopes to promote and provide some ideas and methods to teachers in their teaching and also hopes to change the condition of the low usage rate of the help-reading system letting students make full use of the present resources to boost their Chinese attainment.
