| Key Competencies is a comprehensive manifestation of students’ knowledge,skills,emotions,attitudes,values,and other aspects.It is an indispensable common literacy that every student needs to succeed in life and to adapt to individual lifelong development and social development.At present,the concept and system of key competencies have gradually emerged and improved both at home and abroad,which not only leads the direction of China’s21st century education reform but also has practical significance for the cultivation of Chinese college students.It is necessary for social,political,and educational development.This study aims to take “Key Competencies and Values for Chinese Students’ Development”as the theoretical framework,and according to the specific competency students should have,according to the framework,taking the university freshmen of Hebei Province as the research object,and through questionnaire surveys,examines and analyzes key competencies of the research subjects.Concerned about the lack of key competencies of research subjects,summed up the results of investigations to clarify the problems that should be paid attention to in the implementation of key competencies in the education of university students,and provide reference for the education and teaching of institutions of higher learning,and conclude the thinking of future education in higher education institutions.The survey found that the current situation of the key competencies of freshmen in Hebei Province is not optimistic.As a whole,the development of students’ key competencies in all dimensions is unbalanced,and students’ key competencies are lacking in practice.Specifically,it includes: lack of basic humanistic qualities;lack of aesthetic applicability;lack of critical thinking;erroneous thinking in the study;weak use of information tools;weak ability in innovation and practice;insufficient understanding of international relations,etc.This study puts forward the strategy of cultivating college students’ key competencies from the following aspects: clear guidance of key competencies concept and student’s subjective role,students’ focus and problems in the development of key competencies dimensions,and a sound university management system.First of all,we should clarify the guiding principles of key competenciesand the student’s main role;Second,the various dimensions and issues in the students’ key competencies development,taking the followingcorresponding training measures: focus on the accumulation of humanities,enhance the humanistic competency;Consolidate critical and questioning abilities and the spirit of exploring,enhance the scientific spirit and literacy;cultivate learning skills,focus on the improvement of information awareness;consolidate and enhance the quality of healthy life,cultivate students who love life and have a sound personality;provide opportunities and platforms to consolidate and enhance the responsibility to take responsibility;Emphasis on the use of technology awareness and ability,and urgently strengthen the practical innovation competency;Finally,the soundness of the university management system should start from the following aspects: to improve the teaching model of colleges and universities;to shape the democratic atmosphere of the campus;to form a cooperative force with the society and the family to provide a diversified development platform. |
