Although class ending is the last stage of classroom teaching,it is also the second high effective period of classroom.It is of great significance for effective students learning,the improvement of teachers' teaching level and teaching system to learn about the current situation of geography class in high school and finding out the problems and solving them.Based on the analysis and summary of connotation,principles and characteristics of effective class ending,this study adopts the method of sampling survey,randomly selects 12 different types of senior middle schools in Henan province as samples.This study designs teacher and student questionnaires from 12 dimensions: the understanding of geography class ending,the organization of class ending,the selection of subject of class ending,the usage of methods of class ending,the involvement of students in class ending,the effect of class ending,and the influencing factors of the implementation and participation in class ending.By collating the survey data,we found that many high school geography teachers are aware of the importance of class ending,but there are some problems in the implementation of effective class ending,as follows: Some teachers don't have enough knowledge of class ending and have a weak consciousness of it.The main status of students is not so prominent and don't join class ending actively.Some teachers don't have normative teaching behavior and there is a phenomenon of class delay.The method of class ending is settled,and the effect of class ending is not good.The analysis shows that main factors of affecting the effective class ending are as follows: teachers' teaching conception errors.Insufficient preparation and lack of teaching strategies.Limited by teaching time and energy.The limitation of teaching evaluation mechanism and so on.To design cases of 11 effective class ending methods,namely,dictating and summarization,training for consolidation,blackboard writing,blackboard graph,blackboard drawing connected in series,expansion and extension,mind mapping,head-tail echoing each other,emotional sublimation,suspense setting,pithy formula in rhyme,debate contest,and game-playing,based on the connotations,features and principles of effective class ending,as well as problems found in investigation along with formation reason analysis,according to constructivism learning theory,motivation theory,forgetting curve theory and system theory,in combination with thecontent of geography course.In order to ensure the implementation,discussion has been made on the implementation strategies: the teacher should deeply understand effective class-ending;sufficient presupposition should be made before class,and class-ending method should be selected flexibly;to make effective generation during the class so as to ensure the class-ending effect;to adjust and reflect after class so as to bring the class-ending after-heat into play;to improve the teaching evaluation mechanism.
