In the background of promoting urban-rural integration and emphasizing rural education,talent becomes the key resource.Since 2001,the implementation of “withdraw place and merge school”,China's rural boarding school is sustainable development.The rural boarding school is booming,but the dropout rate of boarding students is still high,which arouses the attention of all society.Prime Minister Li Keqiang proposed that reduce the dropout rate of rural students effectively at the 13 national Conference on March 5,2018,Students' learning engagement is one of the important reasons affecting the rural boarding students dropping out of school.In view of this,the paper uses the questionnaire of the Students ' learning engagement by Sun Weiwen,and carries out a questionnaire survey on 5 rural boarding schools in east of Henan,the south of Henan and the north of Henan,and select 6 students and 3 teachers for interview.The results of this study are as follows: Gender in rural boarding students have a difference in the learning engagementt,girls are higher than boys;grade in rural boarding junior high school students have significant differences in learning engagement,the first grade of learning engagement value is the highest,the third grade of learning engagement value is the lowest.Parental education level and family economic level in rural boarding,the results show that both parents' education level and family economic level are significantly correlated with the students learning engagemen in rural boarding school,and the basic psychological demand is significantly correlated with the learning input of the junior middle school student in rural areas.Therefore,the conclusion of this study is that the rural boarding students' learning investment is not high.According to the present research situation,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)Study the students' psychology and stimulating the learning engagement of the rural boarding junior students.Mainly from improving students' competence in learning,setting short-term goals to experience the chance of success,learning the right(2)attribution.(3)Strengthen the construction of teaching environment to create conditions for students' learning engagement.This requires teachers to take alternative parental awareness and improve their teaching methods to improve teaching strategies,the content of the professor needs to be combined with life.(3)Home-school cooperation to improve the learning input of junior middle school students in rural boarding schools.Parents need to master the correct way of education to achieve the family,school,social trinity of learning engagement education strategy.
