With the development of society,popular taekwondo dojang as the main channel to promote taekwondo has been increasingly admired by the young generation.The past years witness growing number of popular taekwondo dojangs,as well as the intensifying issue of overemphasis on quantity rather than teaching quality and effect.This study,based on the background of improving the teaching effect of the popular taekwondo dojangs,studied the popular taekwondo dojangs in Jiangsu province.This study used grounded theory in qualitative research as a research methodology to explore the factors affect of taekwondo teaching in popular dojangs in Jiangsu province,to analyze the shared features of excellent teaching cases,identify the causes of failing teaching cases,to improve the teaching quality and facilitate taekwondo profession development.This study employed the grounded theory as the research methodology,and according to the scale and popularity of Jiangsu popular taekwondo dojangs,the renewing rate of trainees,and the length of trainees'learning time,a total of 37 research samples were collected through the quota sampling method,of which 15 were managers and 12 were trainees'parents.Later,through the purpose of the sampling method,the representative and representative 6 managers and 6 trainees'parents were finalized as research samples.The software Nvivo11.0 was used to analyze data.The 11 free nodes were acquired in the 1st coding phase,including working ethics,working values,working mentality,parents communication services,student communication services,the principle of strict and flexible teaching combination,interest-oriented principle,aptitude-oriented teaching philosophy,teaching content,student feedback,teaching purpose;while in the 2~ndd coding phases 4 tree nodes were identified,including working ethics,communicative services,teaching principles,and teaching expertise;the final core type,“synergy between non-teaching related factors and teaching-related factors”was identified in the 3rd coding phase upon repeated consideration and comparison among different types of factors.The researching findings of this study are concluded as below:(1)the synergy between teaching-related factors and non-teaching related factors determines the teaching effect in popular taekwondo dojangs,while the non-teaching-related factors generated more influence than teaching-related factors.Non-teaching-related factors consist of professional beliefs and communication services.Teaching-related factors consist of teaching principles and teaching skills.The occupational beliefs occupy the most important position among the influencing factors of teaching effect of the taekwondo dojangs in Jiangsu Province,followed by communication services,teaching principles again,and finally teaching skills.(2)the managers value more about the working ethics,parents communication services,working mentality,and teaching feedback;while parents highlights parents communication services,students communication services,the principle of the principle of strict and flexible teaching combination,and working ethics;it is found that parents communication services and working ethics are both valued by both managers and student parents.(3)among the respondents,people with a bachelor's degree have a more thorough understanding of the nodes than people with a high school diploma;while people with a high school diploma have a more thorough understanding of the nodes than people with a middle school diploma.It is concluded that the education degree of the respondent is positively related with his understanding level of the teaching quality in the popular taekwondo dojangs.
